President
Chris is a seasoned healthcare operating executive with deep expertise in strategy, operations, turnaround, integration and business process outsourcing. Chris has led ClearTurn Consulting’s engagements saving health plans and providers hundreds of millions of dollars through improved operational performance and reduced costs. Most recently, Chris was CEO of AxisPoint Health where he led the private-equity backed Population Health Management company through a restructure, split the business into two parts and ultimately sold each part. Prior to founding and leading ClearTurn Consulting, Chris was COO of StayWell Health Management where he led Operations, IT and Analytics and was responsible for the integration of StayWell’s acquisition of LifeMasters, where he was EVP and General Manager prior to its acquisition. Prior to that, Chris developed and led a Business Process Outsourcing Center of Excellence at Blue Shield of California where he was responsible for overseeing the company’s outsourcing strategy, execution and management across operational functions including enrollment, claims processing, customer service and back-office processing. Early in his career, Chris was a client leader in a boutique management consulting firm assisting health systems with strategic planning and integrated delivery system development.

Managing Director
Jon is a management consultant with more than twenty years of health plan operations leadership experience. His background includes management in customer service, claims processing, new and renewing enrollment, sales operations and product strategy. He led the development of a multi-year outsourcing strategy for back-office health plan functions. He has managed global claims and membership processing teams. Jon was the executive accountable for integrating a major California-based health plan back-office membership system with the Covered CA public exchange. As a Managing Director with ClearTurn, Jon was the Client Relationship Manager for a major national vision plan with 37 million plus members. In this role, he oversaw several initiatives that improved his client’s profitability by $5M+ annually. The initiatives included eliminating paper claims payments and driving EFT adoption for providers, optimizing the group billing accounts receivable processes, redesigning the call center IVR to drive self-service and implementing a new vendor solution to handle provider telephone inquiries. Jon also led a one-million-member Midwest regional health plan through an overhaul of its claims intake and payment processing functions resulting in >$20M in savings over five years.

Principal
With more than 25 years of empowering healthcare companies to find their True North, Michael brings a wealth of healthcare, market development, M&A, and population health experience to the ClearTurn team. He has held senior roles at IBM Watson Health, Accenture, and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), and currently operates an independent advisory firm (SJA Ventures). He previously served on the Board of Directors for the Population Health Alliance and helped to oversee the National Finance Committee of the American Diabetes Association. Michael holds a Master of Arts in Communications from the University of Maryland, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Flagler College, and completed postgraduate studies at Fudan University in Shanghai. He is conversant in Mandarin Chinese, and enjoys fitness, travel, and showing his 5th-grade twin girls everything.

Principal
Chris has spent much of his 20+ year career building innovative operations programs to better serve customers and drive business results. His versatile experience in customer success, customer experience management, global and domestic outsourcing, managed services operations, client services and account management, and delivery operations makes him a valuable operations expert. His passion for developing great teams has led him to leadership positions at Apria Healthcare, Stream Global Services, StarTek, and Nakoma Group. Chris holds a Masters Degree in Management from Lesley College, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design from Texas A&M University. He also attended Squadron Officer’s School as a Captain in the United States Air Force, and is COPC CX Standard Certified.

Principal
Mary has over 25 years of senior leadership experience within managed care organizations including CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Magellan Health, and HGS AxisPoint Health, where she served as Senior Vice President and Head of Business. In addition, she led LifeWorks EAP/Worklife and Wellness programs during her tenure at Ceridian HCM and was a consultant for the Robert E. Nolan Company. Mary Jane's primary areas of focus include clinical operations and strategy, service operations, and system selection and migration. She holds a Master's in Health Services Administration from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University.

Kevin is a healthcare operations leader with more than 15 years of healthcare operations experience. His prior health plan responsibilities include leadership in customer service, member enrollment, provider correspondence and back-office business process outsourcing at Blue Shield of California. He has managed an international portfolio of operations spanning India, the Philippines, and the U.S. Kevin has additionally provided consultative services focused on operations improvement to a broad range of healthcare organizations spanning payor, provider, and digital health companies, including Castlight Health, Blue Shield of California, Proteus, Christiana Care, and Apria Healthcare while in roles at ClearTurn Consulting and Booz Allen Hamilton. Kevin was most recently the VP of Healthcare Operations at Lark Health, a digital disease management solution, where his responsibilities included customer service, customer success, sales operations, clinical analytics, finance, procurement and head of project management.

Chris spent much of his 20+ year career commercializing solutions in healthcare payer and provider companies. His interest in growing healthcare startups and expertise in revenue growth, contract negotiations, strategic positioning, management and training, and product viability analysis makes him a key resource for the many companies he’s worked for and advised, including Krames StayWell and FastMark. Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and enjoys reading (history, of course), his family, and any caffeine delivery system, preferably coffee.

Lauri brings over 35 years of claims operations experience to ClearTurn. Prior to consulting, she served multiple leadership roles in a 30+ year career at Blue Shield of California leading claims operations in all lines of business. Lauri has led claims operations through platform migrations, membership expansions, and multiple regulatory change initiatives.

Project Management & IT Expert
ClearTurn is pleased to affiliate with Robert and goPMO, a global services provider for technology and application deployments. With 25 years of health and life science, consumer and industrial product, and federal and state public sector experience, Robert brings direct and extensive experience within the Information Technology (IT) and Project Management Office (PMO) functions. Currently President & CEO of goPMO, Robert brings a visionary approach to IT organizational strategic and tactical planning, project and program transformations, and PMO implementations and reorganizations. Robert holds an MBA from the University of California, Davis, and a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems and General & Applied Economics from California State University, Bakersfield. Other passions include triathlons, golf, and woodworking.

Heather has a 20+ year career in large scale Call Center Operations. In prior roles, Heather has been instrumental in developing and implementing foundations of leadership development, coaching culture, quality, and new business implementation all focused on process improvement, customer experience, effectiveness, and efficiency. Most recently Heather has served as Chief of Staff for Optum's Behavioral Health Operations team driving strategy and key initiatives supporting clinical and non clinical Mental and Behavioral Health teams and translating strategy into actionable initiatives.
Heather has a dual Undergraduate degree from Kutztown University in Visually Impaired Education and Elementary Education and a Masters degree in Global Leadership from University of Phoenix.
